GUITAR BOOK project

Last week was CRAZY PIG DESIGNS 23 rd Anniversary , however this week is another landmark for me as I have finally completed my GUITAR BOOK project.
FIVE YEARS IN THE MAKING !
Two of my favorite guitarists and guitar experts.
ZZ TOP , Billy F Gibbons and CHEAP TRICK, Rick Nielsen
were impressed enough with the book that they have both agreed
to write forewords for it.
Not only that, but they have both signed IN PERSON each copy of the extremely LIMITED EDITION SUPER DELUXE EDITION..
If like me you loved and lived CLASSIC ROCK, followed GUITAR HEROES, and are into VINTAGE or RARE GUITARS
This is the ultimate guitar book.
I will be released in approximately 3 months time as a TWO VOLUME BOX SET in deluxe slipcase.

Sometimes we get a question like...
What are the most challenging pieces you have ever made ?
There is not one and single answer, but it would be guess to say
that "FACES" or one might call portraits is definitely up there on the top of the list.
When I started making the FRANKENSTEIN ring. I worked on it for a long time, but the more time I spent on it the worse it got.
So in frustration , I simply clamped it in a vise and with a hammer and destroyed it.
I immediately started again from scratch and spend many hours
on the new design.When I thought it was nearly finished.
I looked at it closely and had to come to the conclusion it looked
more la Cliff Richard ( No offense to Sir Cliff) than Boris Karloff,
Frankenstein,
So this second prototype met the same fate as the first one.But I did not give up, more time and more patience was required, It eventually look like the classic figure of Boris Karloff
While I was on a roll , NOSFERATU became my next project.

Probably the two most revered guitar collectors and experts
in the world.
There will be a SUPER DELUXE limited edition box set
of two volumes.Each one personally hand signed by both
Rick Nielsen and Billy Gibbons.
Only 250 numbered copies will be available.

Another run of a DELUXE edition will also be available

Finding the time to create new designs while being busy with custom orders is never easy,However here are some of our latest creations.
This first item was custom made for on of clients that wanted a classic skull and crossed bones ring
combining white and yellow gold,
New creations for our store include five new rings.
The first two are finished and are shown here. 
First out of our workshop is the small , black enamel
Maltese cross ring This ring was introduced by public demand and it is a great addition to our range of crosses rings.
Second item is a lightweight and delicate ring with
the underlining message of " Love forever".
Two skeleton hands making the shape of a heart.
Three more rings are into the final stage of finishing
and should be ready very soon.
We will of course keep you posted.

BESPOKE SKULL RING from CRAZY PIG DESIGNS

Here is another of our latest custom made pieces.
This one off ring is made of solid white gold with black diamonds set into the eyes.
the DONEC MORS lettering is not engraved or laser cut, it is in fact deeply hand carved one l;etter at the time into the forehead of our classic Evil skull ring. This is much harder to do but is simply the only way to achieve a beautiful result.
As a bespoke made piece this item is not available in store 
or on line.

I always have a list of ideas and planned designs on my workbench,It is never one or two it is dozens.Many have been started months ago and due to custom orders and other projects these new designs seem to take ages to complete.
But eventually they see the light of day.
Here are two new items
Based on our classics, Small Evil Skull,and Momento Mori skull ring, we are introducing NEMO RISI MORS (Till death do us part)
It is a medium size skull ring and easy to wear for both men and women.

The other new ring was created to complement our
Large wing pendant.
It is called WING OF DESTINY.
We could have used the large wing pendant and simply bent it into a ring but this is not how we work.
This item is a new 3D carving.
It was finished a few weeks ago but the master got broken and was no longer usable, So I carved it again.
This is a very comfortable ring due ti its smooth profile.

GUITAR UPDATE:
A little while back I set up to design and make a replacement trapeze for original 1952/ 1953 Gibson Les Paul Gold tops.
I was prompted in creating a straight replacement tailpiece because I owned an early Gibson gold top and it was really difficult to play with the cumbersome trapeze bar.

Here's an update on our latest SKULL RING creation:
Some very discerning and knowledgeable customers
have contacted us to tell us that in fact our translation
of NEMO RISI MORS was incorrect: it actually meant
No ones laugh in the face of death, 
This is not what we actually wanted and we will be correcting
the latin phrase. It should read NEMO NISI MORS
Nemo nisi mors in English translates to
Nobody except death (will part us).
(Inscription in the wedding ring of the Swedish Queen Katarina Jagellonica)
We have made about 8 of the NEMO RISI MORS. however
we will be no longer making these after this very first batch:

After attending the ALEXANDER MC QUEEN exhibition at the
Victoria & Albert museum a couple of weeks ago...
( By the way: SIMPLY STUNNING ! Well worth a visit )
In one of the merchandising cabinets I spotted a pretty cool item, It was a bird claw earring: 
Whoa! what a coincidence! I wonder where did he get the idea?
So I figured it might be high time to resurrect this old classic.
Discontinued at least 20 years ago we decided to open
the vault and dig out the original " BIRD CLAW pendant"
We will offer various options, including a selection of semi-precious stones
 and full 3 Dimensional eye ball
available as a pendant or earring.

Well. There was only one place to be on Wednesday night 24th of June 2015 .That is ZZ TOP at Wembley,
Thanks to Mr Gibbons for the invite.
This guitar event was highlighted by the fact that on that stage 
was the "BEST" USA guitar player as well as the best British guitarist " JEFF BECK" who turned up on his birthday
and played one of my all time favorites ZZ TOP tracks
"ROUGH BOY"
It simply does not get any better that that.
